For England primary & secondary schools - academy or maintained
Your school's statutory policies, checked privately.
Anyone can check whether a policy exists. We read what your published policies actually say, against the DfE's statutory requirements - over 140 individual checks across 37 requirement areas, from admissions to safeguarding - and tell you privately how many statutory and quality issues we found, so you can put them right before anyone else notices. Free, and your results never leave us.
Free - you'll verify your school email with a 6-digit code first, so every school's results stay private. Because we review your policies, your summary is emailed within one working day.
Private and confidential. We only read what your website already publishes - and we never name, rank or share a single school.

What gets checked
Statutory presence
17 must-publish items (admissions, SEN report, safeguarding, pupil premium, attendance...) plus the DfE "should publish" set and trust-level duties.
Written properly
Content checks, not just presence: does safeguarding cite KCSIE 2025? Is the pupil premium statement for 2025/26 with real amounts? Are equality objectives inside their 4-year window?
Evidence, never a verdict
Every finding links to the exact page or PDF we found - or tells you plainly what we couldn't find, with the GOV.UK source. An audit aid to help you get ahead, not a judgement.
What the check-up also catches
Every policy, inventoried
We inventory every policy on your website and pull the review date out of each document, so you see what has quietly gone out of date before an inspector does.
Safeguarding, specifically
We check your safeguarding policy for a stale Keeping Children Safe in Education year - the check most tools skip. KCSIE 2025 is the current version.
Earn a public badge
Fix your statutory gaps and earn a PolicyCheck Verified badge for your website, linking parents and inspectors to your policies.
Why this isn't just another automated checker
One number that blends a legal breach with a cosmetic typo tells a headteacher nothing. We separate what is actually a breach from what merely reads badly - never a blended score.
A tool that asks you to thumbs-down its mistakes is telling you how often it is wrong. We read every policy by hand.
£25 a year, with a fresh check every half term.
Free to run the scan as often as you like. Our flagship plan runs a full by-hand check every half term for a year and drafts every policy you're missing or need to update, ready to adopt - £25 per school. Others charge £249-399 a year for the same cadence: a real check every half term for less than others charge for one, and no annual lock-in you cannot use. Prefer a single one-off report first? That's £10 per school. Single school or whole trust.
Compare the free & paid plansSecure card payment via Stripe, one payment - no subscription, no annual lock-in. The scan itself is always free.
See a real report before you pay
It's a fair question: what does £25 a year actually buy that the free scan doesn't? So we've published complete samples of both paid reports - one school, and a whole trust - written on fictional schools. Every policy read in full, the wording quoted, each gap named against the duty behind it, and ready-to-adopt drafts. Read them end to end, then decide.
Running a whole trust?
Check every school in your trust in one go and get the school-by-requirement matrix your board and Ofsted prep need, plus a trust-level check of the 10 statutory duties on the trust's own website. We already hold the school lists, so there's nothing to send us.
For trusts, assign an owner to every gap and set policies centrally so they cascade to every school, with the school and trust editing boundary kept clean - not just a read-only rollup.
Your results stay private
PolicyCheck is a confidential check-up, not a league table. We never publish a list of schools or their scores, we don't rank anyone, and a scan only ever reads pages your website already makes public. Your report is yours - to fix quietly, or to share with your own governors and board if you choose. Our privacy commitments →
