Terms & conditions
The short version, in plain English.
This page covers how the service works and what we each agree to. See our privacy commitments for how we handle your data.
The service
- PolicyCheck reads pages your school or trust website already makes public, and checks them against DfE / GOV.UK statutory publishing guidance. It is an audit aid, not legal advice, and not a substitute for your own governance or legal review.
- The free scan can be run as often as you like. Paid tiers (board report, and report + policy drafts) are a one-off payment per school, taken securely via Stripe; a whole-trust order also includes a review of the trust's own website.
- We aim to deliver paid reports within one working day. Findings are based on what was publicly published on the day of the review - policies change, so treat the report as a snapshot, not an ongoing guarantee.
- Draft policies we provide are a starting point pre-filled with what we found - your governing body remains responsible for adopting, adapting and approving anything before it is published as your school's policy.
Being named as a customer
We do not name, cite or use the logo of any school or trust in our own marketing, and we never publish a public list or league table of results - unless you have separately and explicitly told us we can, using the opt-in toggle in your compliance workspace. Simply using PolicyCheck, free or paid, does not grant this permission by itself.
If you do opt in, you can withdraw that permission at any time - from the same toggle, or by emailing hello@whatschool.ai - and we will stop and remove anything already published.
